The French learn how to eat well from a very young age. Here is today's school lunch menu:
Starter: Lentil salad
Main course: Roasted lamb au jus
Vegetable: Zucchini with becehmel sauce
Cheese course: Camembert
Dessert: Fresh melon slices
Sometimes, there is flan or chocolate mousse for dessert! Of course, there is always a fresh baguette. As you can guess, Alana LOVES her school lunches - Alexa, well, she likes the bread.
You could say this is just a bit of an improvement on the "pretzel with cheese sauce" that I recall as a main dish in Ithaca last year!

That lunch is better than most dinners I serve at home!! I'm coming to France for lunch!! Miss you guys! Thanks for Allison's eCard - she loved it. She kept saying she wanted to invite Alana to her party this Saturday - I don't think she really understands how far away France really is!!
That's far and away better than the corn dogs I saw kids eating for BREAKFAST at Caroline school last week. When I read the menu to Erich, he thought I was talking about the $60/head dinner I'm serving at tomorrow night.
He does think they're slacking, though - what's a French meal without a pureed vegetable?
